Spring Training Roster Posted - Watch those young pitchers!

I just posted the first "Rob Hall Report" to the page titled "Spring Training (2011)".  A few pointers to get you started.  First, it's best viewed in Fullscreen.  Second, there are two pages.

The first page contains the pitchers (Starters, then Relievers) sorted by "ADJ OBA" which is described below the spreadsheet.  The pitching numbers are career Major League numbers or Minor League numbers if the player did not have more than 50 Major League innings. Minor League starters are listed with the Major League starters even though they may not be starting in Spring Training. Shading indicates non-roster invitee(italicized) and minor league players.

The second page contains the hitters sorted by an average of the hitter's batting, slugging, and on-base averages reduced by a fielding factor. The batting numbers are NOT career numbers, they are all from the 2010 season.

Now to the comments!  There are some REAL fire-balling Minor League pitchers to watch who may challenge for starting positions.  Don't be surprised if one of them poses a serious challenge for a starting job.  I predict there will be a sleeper in the mix this year that may make it a tough decision when it comes to deciding who comes north with the team.

Watch Jacob Turner and Charlie Furbush to make a showing as starters.  Watch the relievers this year too.  Ryan Perry finished strong last year and is poised to make this year his breakthrough year.  Robbie Weinhardt was a great filler who came on strong at the end of the year, and has been lights-out in the Minors.  Look for him to step up and challenge for a spot in the pen.

First Spring game is February 25th.. not long now.
